Works better at clearing groups of enemies in a pinch, but significantly worse than the Escher Kiss, putting it in the category of weapons that is clearly outclassed.Only marginally better than the Escher Kiss stat wise, with a slower reload time and contesting a non pistol slot. The Scatter actually contests the slot for the Death Bringer, but has way too much recoil to be a true contender.
